Muslim Children Lead Tree-Planting Campaign in India’s Telangana State
…………………
A heartening environmental initiative unfolded in Karimnagar, a city in the Indian state of Telangana, where hundreds of Muslim children took part in a national tree-planting campaign. The event, held under the slogan “Hands in the Soil… Hearts with the Nation,” is part of the “One Million Children to Plant Trees” initiative, organized by the Islamic Children’s Organization in collaboration with Jamaat-e-Islami Hind.
The children marched from Geeta Bhavan Junction to the local government office, chanting environmental slogans in various languages promoting love and national belonging. Among the most prominent was “Plant a Tree… Save the Earth.” The procession captivated onlookers with its sincerity and powerful message, showcasing the potential of conscious youth to drive meaningful change.
According to organizers, the campaign aims to raise environmental awareness among the younger generation, cultivate a sense of responsible citizenship, and contribute practically to combating climate change. They emphasized that Islam inherently encourages environmental stewardship, linking faith with purity and urging tree planting as a rewarded act of goodness.
The initiative received widespread praise from activists and the local community, who viewed it as a model of harmony between Islamic values and environmental and national duties—an inspiring message of hope for a greener, more conscious future led by children.
