Hindus, Muslims Foster Ongoing Relationship This Eid

An unusual Eid celebration took place this week in Chirag Nagar, Ghatkopar, India, where Hindus greeted Muslims after prayers with red roses, Hindustan Times reported. This initiative, led by 64-year-old Sharad Kadam, former Mumbai president of the Rashtriya Sewa Dal, aimed to promote communal harmony.

Kadam, along with members of the Andhashraddha Nirmulan Samiti and local Muslim activist Kalubhai, donned white caps symbolic of their Hindu identity. Despite inviting opposition party members, none attended.

Kadam, familiar with the area’s history of riots, expressed the need for trust and friendship to counter divisive forces. The Muslim community, moved by the gesture, pledged to maintain this relationship beyond Eid, emphasizing the importance of ongoing dialogue and unity.
