New Translation of the Holy Quran Launched in New Delhi

Dr. Zafarul-Islam Khan’s latest English translation of the Holy Quran, titled “The Glorious Quran,” was launched at the India Islamic Cultural Centre in New Delhi, MilliGazette.com reported.

The event attracted a diverse audience, including scholars and community leaders, highlighting the relevance of Islam today.

Dr. Khan emphasized the need for a modern, accessible translation, noting shortcomings in previous versions. His work, which began in 2011, incorporates authentic Arabic sources and aims to clarify contemporary issues faced by Muslims. The translation is available in two editions: one with parallel Arabic text and another with only English.

Speakers at the launch praised Dr. Khan’s efforts. Najeeb Jung, former Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia, called it “comparable to the best.” Prof. Abdul Majid Qazi noted the translation’s beauty and accuracy, while Maulana Muhibullah Nadwi highlighted its meticulous research. The launch marked a significant contribution to Islamic literature in English.
