India: Bihar BJP MLA Shailendra’s Controversial Remarks Spark Outrage
Bihar BJP legislator Engineer Shailendra has ignited controversy by claiming that Muslims are harmful to the nation, Muslim Mirror reported.
Speaking at a public gathering in Bihpur, he expressed dissatisfaction with Muslim voting patterns, stating he would prefer to lose elections than accept votes from Muslims. He labeled the community a threat to national security and accused them of creating disorder.
Shailendra further suggested that Muslims should adopt population control measures, asserting that larger families among Muslims are detrimental to the country’s progress.
His inflammatory comments have drawn sharp condemnation from opposition parties, particularly the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), which accused him of using communal rhetoric to polarize voters ahead of the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. Critics warn that such remarks threaten to deepen religious divisions and disrupt the social fabric of the state, reflecting ongoing tensions in Indian politics.
