FIR Filed Against Uttar Pradesh Priest for Derogatory Comments about Holy Prophet
An FIR has been lodged against Yati Narasinghanand, a controversial priest from Uttar Pradesh, for making derogatory remarks about Prophet Mohammed during a speech in Ghaziabad on September 29, Muslim Mirror reported yesterday. The case was registered on October 3 after a video of his comments circulated on social media.
The police acted following public outcry, although no arrests have been made yet.
Narasinghanand is notorious for his inflammatory rhetoric and has faced legal action for hate speech in the past. He has previously made contentious statements targeting Islam and other figures, including former President Abdul Kalam and Prime Minister Modi. His vision for an “Akhand Hindu Rashtra” has also sparked significant criticism, particularly his claims regarding historical figures and religious sites.
