Deadly air pollution in Delhi causes some citizens to quit city

Some residents of Delhi have moved to Goa to escape the air pollution in the Indian capital responsible for various health problems, a VOA article reported.

These people, known as “pollution migrants,” are moving to Goa, a popular destination offering clean air and a healthier environment.

The COVID-19 pandemic has further accelerated the migration, as remote work options have allowed professionals to move away from the polluted city. Despite challenges, many have found a better quality of life in the coastal city of Goa.

It should be mentioned that Delhi is regularly ranked as one of the world’s most polluted cities, with its annual smog blamed for thousands of premature deaths each year.
