AIMIM president finds Varanasi court verdict ‘violation of Places of Worship Act’
All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president described the recent judgement by the Varanasi court to allow Hindu devotees to offer prayers inside the ‘Vyas Ka Tekhana’ area inside the Gyanvapi mosque complex as a violation of the Places of Worship Act.
Asaduddin Owaisi emphasized that the judge himself had admitted no prayers were offered since 1993 in the mosque, and that it was improbable to know there are idols inside this place of worship after 30 years.
Calling the decision wrong, Owaisi further said that the Intezamia Masjid Committee will appeal in the Allahabad High Court against the order.
He reiterated that unless the Modi administration stands by the Places of Worship Act, these biased circumstances will continue.
