Humanitarian Catastrophe Deepens in El Fasher Amid RSF Attacks
—————————
The humanitarian crisis in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur State, has worsened significantly after the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) launched heavy artillery attacks on various parts of the city today.

According to Al Jazeera, these heavy shelling attacks coincided with scattered clashes against the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF). The assaults have completely disrupted critical infrastructure, including hospitals, markets, and water and power stations.

Medical sources have described the humanitarian situation in the city as “catastrophic.” Residents are facing severe shortages of food and medicine, with some resorting to consuming animal feed to survive.

El Fasher has been under a complete siege for over 500 days. The ongoing war in Sudan has displaced 15 million people and resulted in over 20,000 deaths, according to United Nations figures.
