UN Official Says 55 Cents Per Day Needed to Assist Each Person in Sudan
————————–
A United Nations official has highlighted the severe humanitarian crisis in Sudan, stating that only 55 cents per day is needed to assist each person in need. According to an article by Anadolu Agency, the crisis is the largest in the world, with 30 million people requiring aid.

Edem Wosornu, an official from the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), described Sudan’s capital, Khartoum, as a “decimated city” and a “ghost town.” She stated that it is the worst situation she has witnessed in her decades of humanitarian service.

Wosornu emphasized that funding for the crisis is critically low, with only 23% of the requested amount received so far. She called for continued funding and advocacy to keep the spotlight on Sudan and stressed the urgent need for an end to the ongoing conflict.
