The daily scholarly session of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi was held on Saturday, the 18th of Muharram 1448 AH.
As in previous sessions, His Eminence answered questions from attendees on various jurisprudential issues.
Speaking about the meaning of “Ali ibn al-Hussein” mentioned in the Ziyarat Ashura, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi said that, based on the strong contextual indication between the ruling and its subject, the intended meaning of “Ali ibn al-Hussein” in Ziyarat Ashura is most likely Honourable Ali al-Akbar, peace be upon him, the martyr of Karbala.
His Eminence also explained the meaning of “the companions of Hussein” in Ziyarat Ashura, stating that it refers to those who were martyred alongside Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
