Grand Ayatollah Shirazi: Fourteen Infallibles embody all virtuous attributes of Prophets

The Supreme Marja Grand Ayatollah Sayid Sadiq al-Hosseini al-Shirazi said that all virtuous attributes possessed by the prophets are fully embodied in the Holy Prophet and the 13 Infallibles (peace be upon them all), according to predominant Shia belief.

The remarks were made during his daily scholarly session held on Tuesday, the 28th of Sha’ban 1447 AH, where Grand Ayatollah Shirazi, as in previous meetings, responded to questions from attendees on various jurisprudential and theological issues.

Addressing the title “Khalilullah” (Friend of God) attributed to Prophet Abraham, His Eminence noted that Abraham is among the Ulul Azm (Possessors of Steadfastness and Determination) prophets and is described with this distinguished attribute. He added, however, that the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure family) encompasses all the attributes granted to the prophets.

He further stated that these qualities are not limited to the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him and his pure family) alone, but also apply to the 13 other Infallibles (peace be upon them), emphasizing that religious narrations support this understanding.
