Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Urges Spiritual Preparation Ahead of Ramadan

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi has called on believers to make full use of the remaining days of the holy month of Sha‘ban and to prepare spiritually and practically for the upcoming month of Ramadan by engaging in actions that earn the pleasure of God and Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance).

The call was made in brief remarks published on the official website of his office, coinciding with the anniversary of the birth of Imam al-Mahdi (peace be upon him). In the statement, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi described the middle of Sha‘ban as an important moment for self-reflection and moral refinement.

He emphasized that the mid-Sha‘ban period should be used to adopt conduct that pleases Imam al-Mahdi (peace be upon him), noting that good character earns divine approval, while poor conduct leads to displeasure. He urged believers to prepare for Ramadan by disciplining the self and cultivating noble moral values.

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi has repeatedly stressed on various occasions that the month of Sha‘ban serves as a spiritual prelude to Ramadan. He has encouraged believers to invest this period in self-purification, ethical behavior, increased acts of worship, and good deeds, highlighting their significant role in attaining closeness to God and achieving genuine readiness for the season of mercy and forgiveness.
