Grand Ayatollah Shirazi Emphasizes Global Reach of Husseini Rituals and Importance of Arbaeen

Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq Husseini Shirazi delivered a significant address on the evening of Ashura 1447 AH, to mourners gathered at his residence in Holy Qom.

The Supreme Marja, Grand Ayatullah Seyyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi delivered an inspiring speech on the evening of Ashura, as per an annual tradition, in the presence of scholars and faithful mourners of the Master of the Martyrs, peace be upon him, at his honourable residence in Holy Qom. His speech underscored the increasing global reach of the blessed Husseini rituals and highlighted the profound significance of the Arbaeen pilgrimage.

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi began by extending his condolences to Imam Mahdi (peace be upon him) and prayed for the swift advent of his reappearance, believing it would bring an end to global suffering. He stressed the importance of fervent prayers for this divine intervention.

A central theme of his Eminence’s address was the unprecedented expansion of Husseini rituals worldwide. He urged all followers to exert maximum effort in preserving and promoting these traditions. He specifically cited the Ashura morning ritual as a powerful symbol of reverence for Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and called for the months of Muharram and Safar to be observed with even greater prominence through Husseiniyahs, processions, and mourning ceremonies across the globe.

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi also emphasized the crucial role of women in the Husseini movement. He advised women to participate in mourning ceremonies with modesty and dignity, asserting that their presence strengthens faith and nurtures future generations committed to the Husseini path.

Finally, the Supreme Marja spoke about the Arbaeen pilgrimage, describing it as a hallmark of faith. He acknowledged the millions of pilgrims who converge on the holy city of Karbala and other locations worldwide. He called for the establishment of more accommodation centers and facilities, particularly for pilgrims with limited resources, and advocated for special support to be extended to them.
