Grand Ayatollah Shirazi urges non-Muslims to explore true Islam

The Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, has renewed his call for non-Muslims—especially intellectuals—to study Islam through its original sources: the Qur’an, the life of Prophet Muhammad, and Imam Ali ( peace be upon them all). The Grand Marja emphasized distancing from distorted practices introduced by oppressive rulers like those of the Umayyad and Abbasid eras.
In a recent speech, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi highlighted that many misconceptions about Islam stem from the actions of rulers such as Muawiyah, Yazid, Abdul Malik, Harun al-Rashid, and Al-Ma’mun, who misrepresented the faith while claiming to follow it. He encouraged educated individuals to explore the real Islam aligned with the Qur’an and the Prophet’s teachings, to enrich their societies with its values.
Grand Ayatollah Shirazi also urged believers, especially scholars, to highlight and share the enlightened traits of the Prophet and Imam Ali (peace be upon them all) using modern media, calling for continued efforts to promote the pure, authentic teachings of Islam.
