Grand Ayatollah Shirazi: Caring for Muslim affairs is a priority in Islam

The Supreme Religious Authority, His Eminence Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, stressed the importance of caring for the affairs of Muslims, emphasizing that this is one of the fundamental duties that should be a priority for every Muslim.

These statements were part of the Grand Marja’s series of guidance titled “Nibras al-Ma’rifah” (The Lantern of Knowledge), which addresses various religious, doctrinal, social, and political issues, as well as aspects of the biographies of the Fourteen Infallibles, peace be upon them.

His Eminence pointed out the necessity for every Muslim, according to their ability, to contribute to assisting those in need and providing for their requirements, whether within Islamic countries or beyond. He stated: “All Muslims, each according to their capacity, must contribute to meeting the needs of their fellow Muslims, as this is part of their religious and humanitarian duty.”

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi also emphasized the importance of correcting Islamic beliefs and refining morals, noting that this is achieved through continuous awareness-raising in society and educating Muslims about their religious rulings.

“The responsibility of believers, both men and women, entails caring for the general affairs of Muslims to ensure the soundness of their beliefs and morals, and to acquaint them with their religious rulings so they may act upon them,” the Supreme Marja added.

His Eminence affirmed that among the priorities of Muslims is working to guide society and lead Muslims and non-Muslims alike to the path of truth, indicating that those who undertake the task of guiding non-Muslims are performing a service to Islam, stating: “Guiding non-Muslims is among the affairs of Muslims, and it is the duty of everyone to support and assist in this noble endeavor.”

Grand Ayatollah Shirazi concluded his remarks by calling for the concerted efforts of Muslims everywhere to promote the lofty values of Islam, which bring goodness to all of humanity.
