Grand Ayatollah Shirazi: Pilgrimage to Imam al-Hussein is Superior to All Other Pilgrimages
On Tuesday, the 22nd of Safar, the daily scholarly session of Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Hosseini al-Shirazi was held in his Residence at Qom, where he addressed various theological and jurisprudential questions from attendees, continuing the tradition of previous meetings.
During the session, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi discussed the merits of visiting Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him) and its significance both in this world and the hereafter. His Eminence stated that, based on hadiths, the pilgrimage to Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him) is akin to a spiritual visitation of God in His Throne, emphasizing that it is as if one has visited God Himself. He elaborated that while God is not physically visible, the act of visiting Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him) holds that profound significance.
He further asserted that the Ziyarah of Imam al-Hussein (peace be upon him) surpasses all other visitations of the Infallibles (peace be upon them) in both this world and the next. The Supreme Marja noted that, although all the Ma’sumeen (peace be upon them) are a single light, each possesses unique attributes that may not be found in the others, highlighting the distinct virtues associated with Imam al-Husein, peace be upon him.
