Grand Ayatollah Shirazi: Every Hussainiya should become TV channel
In his speech at the gathering of religious missionaries ahead of the holy month of Ramadan on Saturday, Grand Ayatollah Shirazi has emphasized the necessity of responding to Shubuhāt and lies attributed to the Holy Quran and Ma’sumeen, especially on satellite channels.
Grand Ayatollah Shirazi pointed out that in the past useful measures were taken by previous scholars in defense of the Holy Qur’an, the Holy Prophet and the Infallibles, peace be upon them.
The Marja continued: Although writing a book is a useful contribution, today’s world is the world of presence on satellite channels. The same way the people of falsehood and disbelief have set up a number of satellite channels to cover various issues, believers should also try to spread the culture of Ahlul-Bayt, which is the purest and most beautiful culture, in different forms all over the world.
His Eminence emphasized that the best teachings can be found in the Holy Qur’an, Nahj al-Balagha and Sahifa al-Sajjadiyya, urging the need for satellite channels to convey these pure, enlightening facts to the people in line with the instructions of the Holy Prophet on the day of Ghadir and the incumbent responsibility of every generation to transmit the message of God to the next.
The Supreme Marja reiterated that today is the age of satellite networks, the internet and similar technologies, and that toxic and deviating content is being spread using these tools to influence people. He then said: The holy month of Ramadan is a good opportunity to convey and reinforce the message of Ahlul-Bayt, and every Hussainiya anywhere in the world should consider using satellite and internet networks to fulfill this important mission, hoping to guide even one person in far-away lands.
Grand Ayatollah Shirazi stressed that every mosque and Hussainiya should launch a satellite network, even over years, to promote religious content and share news about activities and occasions linked to Ahlul-Bayt throughout the year, creating a collective positive influence on a global scale.
His Eminence also said: Although performing such activities is a sufficiency wajib, and due to lack of sufficiency, it is an individual wajib, and it should be done throughout the year, the holy month of Ramadan is a good opportunity to fulfill this obligation. He cited the sermon of the Holy Prophet to point out that if a person fulfills any obligation in the holy month of Ramadan, they will receive a seventy-fold reward, and thus losing this opportunity in this month will be a huge regret.
In the end, the Supreme religious Authority advised everyone who will hear this message to use the opportunity of the holy month of Ramadan to enhance their piety and God-consciousness and fulfill their duties in relation to others.
