Threats Resurface Against Jargeau Mosque in France
———————–
Eight months after an arson attack destroyed the Jargeau Mosque near the city of Orléans, members of the mosque’s Islamic Cultural Association have once again received a threatening letter.
According to Le Monde, the anonymous message warned, “There should be no mosque in Jargeau — it will burn again soon.”
The threat recalls the February 2025 arson attack that completely destroyed the mosque’s prayer hall just weeks before Ramadan, prompting widespread condemnation from religious and civic leaders.
The Muslim community in the area has expressed renewed fear and distress, describing the incident as part of a growing pattern of anti-Muslim hostility in France.
The Orléans public prosecutor’s office has launched a new investigation into the latest threat, though no suspects have yet been identified or detained.
