Mosque in Northwestern France Comes Under Attack
Unidentified agents have attacked the mosque of the coastal city of Cherbourg-en-Cotentin in northwestern France, TRT network reported.
According to the French-language section of the Turkish news agency, the Bahr Rahma Mosque located in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, a tourist city on the coast of the English Channel, was attacked on Tuesday night, May 7.
In this attack, a bullet was fired at the wall of the mosque, and insulting expressions against Muslims and the Messenger of God, peace be upon him and his family, were painted on the wall and at the entrance of the mosque, as per images published by TRT.
At the same time, cars parked in the parking lot in front of the mosque were also set on fire.
In a conversation with TRT, one of the worshipers confirmed that in recent months, the visits of anti-Islamic people and their threats, obscenities, and harassment towards the mentioned mosque have intensified.
Police and judicial investigations are ongoing.
