Canada has launched a national awareness campaign titled “Together for Canada” to mark Islamic History Month, highlighting the contributions of Muslim communities and promoting social understanding. The campaign features short films by Brazilian-born photographer Eduardo Alves, a Montreal convert to Islam, showcasing the experiences of five Muslim Canadians who contribute positively to society.

During a panel in Montreal, Amira Elghawaby, Canada’s Special Representative on Combating Islamophobia, said the initiative aims to raise awareness about the impacts of online hate and discrimination. Minister of Canadian Heritage Steven Guilbeault praised the Muslim community’s vital role in medicine, science, the arts, and business, reaffirming the federal government’s commitment to countering hate and fostering inclusion as a cornerstone of Canada’s diverse identity.
