The annual “Al-Qalam” Ramadan Book Fair has opened for its eleventh consecutive year in Bosnia and Herzegovina, organized by Al-Qalam Publishing House, which operates under the Islamic Community in the country. The fair runs from February 19 to March 18 under the title “Al-Qalam Book Fair in Ramadan.”

The event features approximately 400 titles spanning religious, intellectual, scientific, and literary fields. Organizers say the fair offers discounted prices to encourage reading and book purchases during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to editor Haris Dubravac, the publishing house has focused on providing works that meet the needs of readers seeking to strengthen their foundational religious knowledge. Featured titles include the updated edition of “Ilm al-Hal” by Naim Hadžiabdić and “Teaching Islam” by Redžib Muminhodžić, as well as “Ramadan Sermons,” which addresses faith-based themes relevant to the month.

The fair also includes intellectual and scholarly works such as “Islam and Modernity” by Samdin Kadić, which explores contemporary Islamic thought, and “A Guide to Understanding the Sunnah and Hadith” by Mehmet Görmez, presenting the science of hadith in a modern and accessible style.

Organizers say the exhibition has become an annual cultural fixture during Ramadan, promoting religious literacy and encouraging broader engagement with books across the country.
