Bangladesh Seeks OIC Support for Halal Certification Development

Bangladesh has requested the support of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in developing halal certification processes for the country, Shia Waves Persian reported.
Dr. Khaled, Bangladesh’s Advisor on Religious Affairs, made the request following a visit to the “Standing Committee on Scientific and Technological Cooperation” in Islamabad. He emphasized the importance of enhancing collaboration among OIC member states to strengthen halal standards and promote economic and technological development.
According to the Daily Star, Dr. Khaled also welcomed the establishment of a halal institute in Uganda with OIC backing, highlighting the organization’s role in fostering scientific and technical cooperation.
He underlined the significance of peaceful coexistence and called for increased joint efforts in halal certification, aiming to advance mutual progress and economic opportunities across Islamic countries.
