Rohingya Refugees Provide Aid to Flood Victims in Bangladesh

Rohingya refugees from Cox’s Bazar have recently organized emergency aid for flood victims in southeastern Bangladesh, as devastating floods affected millions, Arab News reported yesterday.

The floods, caused by heavy monsoon rains and water surges from India, have resulted in at least 59 deaths and impacted approximately 5.5 million people across 11 districts.

In response, a group of 12 Rohingya volunteers distributed relief packages to 3,000 families in affected areas, funded by contributions from their community. Alom Shah, a member of the group, expressed gratitude for the hospitality received from Bangladeshis and emphasized the importance of supporting their hosts in times of need.

The aid included essential food items and medical supplies, showcasing the deep sense of humanity and solidarity among those who have faced displacement themselves. This initiative has been praised as a powerful example of compassion, as one group of victims extends help to another.
