Shia mourners commemorate sorrowful martyrdom anniversary of Imam Al-Askari in Holy Samarra
Large numbers of the Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, have commemorated the martyrdom anniversary of Imam al-Hassan al-Askari, peace be upon him, in Holy Samarra, amid an atmosphere of sadness and sorrow.
The Shia Waves correspondent said that “Large crowds of pilgrims, from various Iraqi provinces, have been arriving in the holy city of Samara for days to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam al-Hassan al-Askari, peace be upon him.”
He added that “Mourning processions and ceremonies have been held on this painful occasion amid tight security procedures and service activities.”
The mourners stressed their “commitment and loyalty to Imam Al-Askari, peace be upon him, and his instructions and to continue on his honorable path,” renewing their “pledge of allegiance and coming to Imam al-Hassan al-Askari, peace be upon him, to defend his son, Imam Al-Mahdi, may Allah Almighty bring forward his honorable reappearance.”
He concluded that “the Holy Askariyya Shrine has prepared special programs for the mourning ceremonies and other religious activities.”
