Female students at Madagascar-based Umul Banin Center raise black banner of holy Muharram
The Umul Banin Center in Majunga, Madagascar, one of the religious and cultural centers affiliated to Grand Ayatollah Shirazi, has raised the black banner to mark the beginning of the holy month of Muharram.
The director of the Shirazi office in the city, Hujjat-ul-Islam wa-al-Muslimeen Sheikh Mohammad Radhi Wasram, said that, “A large number of female believers participated in the banner replacement ceremony which took place on the premises of the center.”
Sheikh Wasram added that, “Umul Banin Center and other centers affiliated to Grand Ayatollah Shirazi will hold various mourning ceremonies and activities to commemorate the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.”
He confirmed that, “Such religious and cultural activities are based on the directives and recommendations of the Supreme Religious Authority.”
