Shia Muslims commemorate martyrdom anniversary of Imam Mohammed Al-Baqir
The Ahlulbayt followers, around the world, are commemorating the painful anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, peace be upon him, which will be marked tomorrow, Monday, corresponding to the 7th of the holy month of Dhul-Hijjah.
A number of Husseiniyahs and Shia Islamic centers in various countries have begun holding special mourning ceremonies to commemorate this sorrowful occasion.
The mourning ceremonies include delivering religious lectures and poetry in honor of Imam Al-Baqir and to show the world the injustice and oppression the Imam had to endure throughout his life.
Shia devotees in Iraq, Iran, Syria expressed their sadness over this tragic occasion and spoke about the significant roles the Imam played in confronting the tyrants of the time and the deviant ideologies the enemies used to spread to undermine the Islam and the teachings of AhlulBayt, peace be upon them.
It should be mentioned that Husseiniyas, centers and organizations, affiliated to the Supreme Religious Authority, Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Sadiq al-Husseini al-Shirazi, around the world, have continued their mourning ceremonies the Imam’s sorrowful martyrdom.
