3,500 volunteers and 1,500 CCTV in Holy Karbala to secure Mid-Sha’aban Massive Pilgrimage
The Security Maintenance Department, affiliated to Imam Hussein Holy Shrine, has announced the implementation of the security plan for Mid-Sha’ban Pilgrimage with the participation of 3,500 volunteers.
The head of the Department, Rasool Abbas Fadala, said in an interview with the official website, “The Security Maintenance Department has begun implementing the security plan for the Mid-Sha’ban Pigrimage,” pointing out that “the plan included mobilizing all employees of the department with a large number of volunteers to facilitate movement and access to the shrine of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him).
He added, “Explosive detection devices and electronic gates will be installed, as well as (1,500) surveillance cameras in the city center and round the two shrines.”
Fadala said that, “A joint operations room was formed with the concerned authorities in the Operations Command, the Police Command and the security authorities, as well as joint coordination with the rest of the departments and other divisions at the Imam Hussein Shrine for the purpose of providing the best services to pilgrims.”
It is worth mentioning that Mid-Sha’ban Pilgrimage is one of the massive events that Holy Karbala hosts, when millions of pilgrims flock to this city to visit the holy shrines of Imam Hussein and his brother, Abu al-Fadl al-abbas, paece be upon them.
