Iraqi forces launch pre-emptive security operation ahead of Mid-Sha’ban Massive Pilgrimage

The Imam Ali Combat Division said in a statement that a security operation was carried out in the Najaf Desert, in coordination with the Holy Najaf Police Directorate, the Holy Karbala Operations, the Middle Euphrates, and other supporting security agencies.

The statement added that the preemptive security operation during which 200 km2 in the depth of the desert was surveyed and inspected towards the north and northwest of holy Karbala Desert, bordering the Anbar desert; indicating that the operation included the inspection of separate roads taken by pilgrims during massive pilgrimages.
