India: The Seminar “Voice of Zainab” Highlights Lady Zainab’s Role in Preserving the Message of Ashura

The city of Kargil in India witnessed a scholarly and literary event that explored the life of Lady Zainab al-Kubra (peace be upon her) and her role in preserving the message of Ashura and conveying the principles of the Husainiyah renaissance to future generations. The seminar, titled “The Voice of Zainab (peace be upon her),” was organized by the Baqir al-Uloom Research and Education Foundation in Kargil and saw the participation of an elite group of scholars, researchers, writers, poets, and students.

The presentations and research discussions during the seminar addressed the scientific, intellectual, and spiritual aspects of Lady Zainab’s character, as well as her stance after the tragedy of Karbala and her role in clarifying the truth of the events and conveying Imam Hossein’s (peace be upon him) message to the nation. Participants emphasized that Lady Zainab embodied the highest meanings of patience, courage, insight, and steadfastness in the face of oppression, noting that her speeches and stances had a significant impact on solidifying the message of Ashura and preserving the objectives of the Husainiyah renaissance in the Islamic memory.

The event also included poetry segments and research discussions highlighting the lessons drawn from Lady Zainab’s life in terms of faith, dignity, defense of truth, and resilience, with an emphasis on the importance of familiarizing younger generations with these values and benefiting from them in confronting contemporary challenges. At the conclusion of the program, nine winners were honored in a reading competition that involved 69 young students and religious studies students, as part of an effort to encourage youth to engage in reading and enrich their religious and cultural knowledge.
