Tatarstan Launches Ramadan Competition to Teach Young Boys the Call to Prayer
————————-
The Religious Administration of Muslims in the Republic of Tatarstan has announced the launch of the “Adhan 2026” competition during the holy month of Ramadan. The event is designed for boys and young adolescents, aiming to teach and perfect their recitation of the Islamic call to prayer (adhan) according to proper rules. Participants are aged between 7 and 13 years.
The competition is organized in collaboration with the creative association “Ruhy Moon” and includes a preparatory training program before the contest. The program focuses on teaching participants the correct rules of performing the adhan and developing vocal skills.
According to the organizers, participants are required to recite the adhan in the traditional Tatar style, observing proper tajweed (pronunciation rules for Arabic letters) and ensuring their voices are melodious and harmonious, in line with the competition’s evaluation criteria.
Marcel Ahmedulin, the competition supervisor, explained that the event is open to boys who already know how to perform the adhan as well as those still learning. He emphasized that the initiative aims to educate the younger generation in this important Islamic practice and enable them to perform it correctly.
All participants who successfully complete the training program will receive certificates of completion along with incentive gifts, designed to encourage continued learning and skill development in adhan recitation.
