Religious Figures Highlight Significance of “Second Ghadir Eid” in Shi’a Tradition
…………..
A group of Shi’a religious speakers and activists emphasized the spiritual and theological importance of the “Second Ghadir Eid,” observed on the 9th of Rabi’ al-Awwal, calling it a continuation of the principles celebrated during the “First Ghadir Eid” on 18th Dhu al-Hijjah.
Speaking to Shi’a Waves Agency on Tuesday, the figures stated that both occasions represent key milestones in the affirmation of the leadership of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) and rejection of those who opposed their divine right. They described the First Ghadir Eid as the day Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him and his family) appointed Imam Ali (peace be upon him) as his successor, completing the message of Islam.
The Second Ghadir Eid, according to the speakers, marks the beginning of the Imamate of the awaited Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance), and is also associated with the defeat of key historical opponents of Fatimah al-Zahra (peace be upon her). They believe commemorating this day brings joy to her heart and strengthens devotion to the Ahl al-Bayt.
