………………
The Imam Hussein Cultural Center in Istanbul, in cooperation with the Ahlulbayt Foundation, organized a program to commemorate the Holy Arbaeen at the Imam Ali Mosque in Büyükçekmece on the outskirts of the city. The event began with a recitation from the Holy Qur’an, followed by congregational prayers led by Sheikh Mikail Kurel.
In his opening remarks, the center’s director, Sabah Al-Talqani, highlighted narrations from the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them) encouraging visitation to Imam Hussein’s Holy Shrine and remembrance of his movement. He stressed that such traditions strengthen values of justice, loyalty, and humanity.
The mosque’s imam delivered a sermon underscoring the devotion of Turkey’s Shia community to the legacy of Imam Hussein, noting that this commitment has been passed down through generations and continues to grow in awareness and depth. The program concluded with the raising of Imam Hussein’s banner, where attendees gathered to pay their respects.
