Shia Muslims express solidarity by raising Sayyeda Zainab’s flag atop holy shrines, religious centres

Al-Kadhimayn Holy Shrine on Saturday evening witnessed a special ceremony to raise the flag of Sayyida Zainab (peace be upon her), attended by clerics, representatives of holy shrines, and officials of Husseini Mawakib from across the holy city of Kadhimiya in Iraq’s capital, Baghdad.

This move came to express support for Sayyida Zainab, peace be upon her, following the lowering of her flag from atop the dome of her sacred shrine in Damascus, Syria.

The Secretariat General of Al-Kadhimayn Holy Shrine organized this symbolic event, which reflected deep feelings of sympathy and sorrow among the believers. They affirmed that the flag of Sayyida Zainab (peace be upon her) would remain raised in their hearts, regardless of hardships and challenges.

Similarly, the holy city of Karbala witnessed parallel ceremonies to raise Sayyeda Zainab’s (peace be upon her) flag. Believers across various cities and regions also raised her flag atop buildings, houses, Hussainiyas, as well as religious centers and holy shrines, in a powerful expression of their spiritual connection to the Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them).

Participants emphasized that Sayyeda Zainab (peace be upon her) remains a symbol of patience and steadfastness, and that her flag continues to fly in the hearts and souls of her followers, despite any attempts by oppressive forces to erase signs of loyalty and devotion to her blessed cause.
