International Al-Safeer Cultural Festival kicks off in Holy Najaf with global participation

The 14th edition of the International Al-Safeer Cultural Festival has been launched at the Grand Mosque of Kufa in Holy Najaf, with participants from 15 Arab and foreign countries showcasing over 87 intellectual and cultural works. The event aims to amplify the global message of Muslim ibn Aqil, ambassador of Imam Hussain, peace be upon him.
Waqas Al-Fatlawi, media official at the mosque, highlighted the exceptional quality and diversity of this year’s contributions. Over 87 selected works will be printed and distributed to academic institutions. The festival also featured 37 short and documentary films as part of the Al-Safeer Short Film Contest, along with Arabic calligraphy competitions celebrating Kufa’s cultural heritage.
The events mark the anniversary of Muslim ibn Aqil’s arrival in Kufa and aim to reinterpret his legacy in a modern context. The mosque also unveiled a new architectural vision to enhance its religious and cultural standing.
