Ongoing construction at Grand Zainabia Mosque in Istanbul

The officials overseeing the Zainabia Mosque, the largest Shia mosque in Istanbul, Turkey, have announced that construction is progressing rapidly to complete this project, which aims to accommodate thousands of followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, for prayers and commemorative rituals.

In a statement published on their official website and seen by Shia Waves Agency, the officials said, “Significant efforts are being made by the Shia followers of Ahlulbayt in Istanbul, in collaboration with the city’s municipality, to finalize the engineering and artistic works on the mosque building.”

They added that “the Zainabia Mosque is one of the largest Shia mosques in Istanbul and the country, featuring a vast hall for prayers and religious ceremonies, as well as a cultural center dedicated to hosting religious and cultural events and reviving the rituals of Ashura.”
