Nigeria: Shia Muslims begin ten-day celebrations in honor of blessed births of Holy Prophet, Imam Al-Sadiq
In an atmosphere filled with joy and happiness, the Shia followers of Ahlulbayt in Kano, Nigeria, are celebrating the great birth anniversaries of the Holy Prophet and his grandson, Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq, peace be upon them.
The believers every year organize a ten-day celebration to honour this occasion, carrying green flags and clapping enthusiastically to the recitations of poems and chants by young poets, all dressed in traditional clothing.
The celebrants emphasized that “they have inherited such traditions and religious rituals to commemorate the blessed births and are keen to uphold them, reaffirming the greatness and significance of these occasion in their hearts.”
They further pointed out that “the world today is in dire need of becoming more familiar with the teachings of the Prophet and his grandson, Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq, peace be upon them.”
