Iraq: Media Authority waives equipment fees for journalists during Holy Arbaeen Pilgrimage
In an effort to facilitate media coverage of the Holy Arbaeen Pilgrimage, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world, Iraq’s Communications and Media Commission has announced that journalists will be exempt from paying fees for bringing in equipment to cover the event.
The decision, made during the Commission’s 23rd meeting, aims to support journalists and encourage both local and international media outlets to cover this significant occasion, which attracts millions of people from Iraq and other world countries.
The Commission emphasized that this move is intended to promote wider media coverage, allowing the spiritual atmosphere of the Holy Arbaeen to reach a global audience.
This decision is expected to ease the financial burden on journalists and create a smoother working environment, thereby enhancing professional media coverage of the Holy Arbaeen Pilgrimage.
