British Christian research highlights principles of justice, equality and peace Holy Arba’een embodies

The British Christian researcher and writer, Dr. Chris Hewer, stated that the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, which marks a pivotal era in the Islamic history, is one of the largest peaceful human gatherings that embodies universal human values.

In an interview with Karbala News Agency, as reported by Shia Waves Agency, Hewer pointed out that this sacred pilgrimage, associated with the martyrdom of Imam Hussein ibn Ali, peace be upon them, reflects the principles of justice, equality, and peace that prevail throughout the event, despite being overlooked by some societies.

According to Hewer, the Arbaeen Pilgrimage highlights how the principles of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, can positively influence societies, through the spirit of sharing and solidarity that is evident during the event. Pilgrims witness how both the poor and the wealthy alike donate, and how professionals offer their medical and non-medical services, reflecting a spirit of giving and unity.

Hewer noted that the challenges faced by the pilgrims, such as walking long distances under intense heat, reinforce the value of unity and cooperation among people, adding that everyone walks side by side without discrimination, showcasing the concept of justice and equality in its most splendid form.

Hewer emphasized the importance of fostering interfaith dialogue and focusing on shared values that can help address everyday life issues such as poverty and social injustice, stressing that the Arbaeen Pilgrimage carries a profound message of non-discrimination between communities and peoples, calling for peace and mutual respect among all of humanity.
