In record time, Iraq receives around 900,000 pilgrims through land and air borders
The Top Security Committee, responsible for managing and organizing the Holy Arbaeen Pilgrimage, announced on Thursday that Iraq has received around 900,000 pilgrims through various land and air borders.
This announcement comes as part of the extensive preparations for the Arbaeen Pilgrimage, which sees the annual influx of large numbers of pilgrims from all over the world.
Brigadier General Muqdad Miri, spokesperson for the Top Security Committee, stated in a report seen by Shia Waves Agency that Iraq received approximately 900,000 pilgrims from August 5th to August 14th.
The land and air borders have seen heavy movement of pilgrims arriving from within Iraq and from various countries around the world to participate in the Holy Arbaeen Pilgrimage of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
Amid this massive increase in the number of pilgrims, security and service agencies are making intensive efforts to ensure the safety and security of the pilgrims and to provide them with the necessary services.
