Shia Muslims commemorate Martyrdom of Imam Hussein in Seattle, USA
The Shia community in the US Greater Seattle Area commemorated the the Martyrdom of Imam Hussein, his family members and honourable companions, peace be upon them on the 10th of Muharram.
The Northwest Shia Youth (NWSY), an organization which has been operating in the city for a decade, organized Husseini Majalis to observe this tragedy of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them.
The full Maqtal of Imam Hussein (the details of what happened on Ashura) was recited on the 10th of Muharram, in addition to latmiyahs and chest-beating gatherings.
NWSY provides a variety of program to cater for the Shia followers of Ahlulbayt in the Greater Seattle area, especially the young Shias.
Inspired by the words of Sayyeda Zeinab (peace be upon her) in the courtyard of Yazid (may God curse him): “You will never put out our remembrance”, the Shia mourners in Seattle emphasized their commitment to continuing the commemoration of the rituals of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.
