SRW expresses deep regret over negative procedures towards Shia Hussainiyas in Arab countries

Shia Rights Watch (SRW), an independent pro-Shia rights organization, has expressed deep regret over the procedures some Arab countries took towards Hussainiyas, calling for wisdom in dealing with these religious centers.

In a statement obtained by Shia Waves Agency, the organization said that it has reviewed some decisions taken under the pretext of organizing the activities of Hussainiyas during the sacred month of Muharram and the rituals commemorating the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him.

These decisions were characterized by restrictions and intensification on these age-old religious practices in those countries, SRW emphasized in its statement.

The organization called on officials to exercise wisdom and broad-mindedness towards all citizens, regardless of their religious affiliations, to thwart those who seek to create sectarian strife in these countries.
