Holy Karbala inaugurates historical Siddra Street Gate
The holy city of Karbala witnessed the opening of the historical Siddra Street gate in its new form, located to the north of the shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, and overlooking the hounorable shrine of Imam al-Mahdi, may Allah Almighty hasten his honourable reappearance.
The opening of the new gate coincideed with the blessed occasion of al-Mab’athan-Nabawi, in the presence of a number of visitors and officials.
The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, emphasized the importance of such projects in serving the visitors of the holy shrine, especially during massive pilgrimages.
The Secretary-General of the Holy Shrine, Hassan Rashid Al-Abbaychi, said during the opening ceremony, covered by Shia Waves correspondent, that: “The first aim of opening this gate is for organizing the pilgrims’ movement and to provide further security.
Al-Abbaychi added that “the spiritual aspect is also key element in this gate as the hounarable pilgrim will feel as if they are at the door of mercy, as it leads to the holy shrine of the Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him.”
The holy city of Karbala witnesses the arrival of millions of pilgrims from inside and outside Iraq throughout the year to commemorate the visit to the holy shrines of Imam Hussein and his brother Abu Al-Fadl Al-Abbas, peace be upon them.
