Shias worldwide commemorate death anniversary of Holy Prophet’s uncle, Abu Talib

Shia Muslims around the world commemorated today, the 26th of blessed Rajab, the death anniversary of Abu Talib, the Holy Prophet’s uncle, and Imam Ali’s father, peace be upon them all.

The Shia mourners held mourning ceremonies that included religious sermons revealing the calamities of Ahlulbait, peace be upon them, and the injustice they were subjected to by the enemies of religion.

Abu Talib, peace be upon him, was a noble figure adored by the Holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny, in Mecca.

The personality of Abu Talib is among the most oppressed in the early Islamic era, as his high status in Mecca among the Quraysh tribe was jeopardized for his defence of the Holy Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him and his family.

Defending his nephew and announcing his submission to the religion of Islam led to him being exiled alongside Prophet Mohammad, peace be upon him and his pure family, and other Muslims in the Valley of Abu Talib, on the outskirts of Mecca.
