Five killed, one wounded in Karachi’s Arshi Centre fire incident

At least five people were killed and two others injured in a ferocious blaze that engulfed a shopping plaza, Arshi Centre, in Aisha Manzil area of Karachi on Wednesday night, local outlets reported.

The fire erupted in a shop due to short circuit, but the flames later spread to other shops of the furniture market in the building, spreading rapidly and soon engulfing the entire building with 250 shops and 450 apartments.

In a similar incident last year, a fire broke out in the basement of the store located at Jail Chowrangi in Karachi, burning millions of worth of goods to ashes.
