Secretariat-General of Shia Holy Shrines announces start of expansion project of Al-Qasim bin Imam al-Kazim’s Shrine

The Secretariat-General of the Shia Holy Shrines in Iraq announced on Tuesday the beginning of the construction work on the expansion project of the shrine of Al-Qasim bin Imam al-Kazim, peace be upon him.

The Secretariat said in a statement followed by Shia Waves Agency, that “the Administration of the shrine of Al-Qasim bin Imam al-Kazim, peace be upon him, has begun the planned expansion of the shrine, including the service and health facilities to serve the honorable pilgrims.”

It added that “the expansion work began a few days ago, and witnessed the expropriation of a number of commercial shops adjacent to the holy shrine and their demolition for the purpose of expanding the area.”
