India: Financial grant allocated to restore old Shia monument in Hyderabad
Indian media outlets reported that a financial grant has been allocated to restore and renovate the historic “Badshahi Ashur Khana” building in Hyderabad, India.
The building is the second Shia monument in the city that dates back to 1591 A.D. It was once a busy center for mourning processions and rituals for Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, but has been neglected for many years.
The grant was donated by Shia followers of Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them. The restoration work will include repairs to the building’s structure, as well as the restoration of its original decorations and artwork. The building is expected to be reopened to the public in the coming months.
