Millions of Pakistanis have hard time procuring medicine as prices have erratically, and unpredictably, increased over the past years.
Many patients have been forced to resort to the black market as the economic crisis crushes small pharmaceutical units.
Pakistanis claim “drug mafia” stockpiles medicine so they can sell them at a massive profit during shortages.
During the past five years, the Pakistani government has given 15 approvals for price increases for medication, leading to shortage and disappearance of over 200 medicines including lifesaving and essential drugs.
