Vatican News Agency: Shia religious leaders open to promoting Islamic-Christian dialogue……………..

The Vatican news agency (Magyarkurir) confirmed that the Shia religious leaders in Iraq are clearly open to promoting Islamic-Christian dialogue and spreading a culture of peaceful coexistence between different religions in the world.

The agency said in a statement viewd by Shia Waves Agency: “The religious negotiations that the Hungarian Christian priest (Anselm Zabolx Szuromi) conducted in the holy city of Najaf a few days ago showed clearly that the Shia leaders in Iraq are open to promoting (Islamic-Christian) dialogue.”

The agency mentioned that “Fr. Szuromi was among the participants in the events of the conference on peaceful coexistence and dialogue held in the city of Najaf, and he had active participation during the conference in addition to extensive discussions with a number of Shia religious leaders in Iraq.”

The agency explained that “this visit and others show well the interest of Shia religious leaders in promoting dialogue with the other,” adding that “it is time for peace and mutual respect to grow between Muslims and Christians.”
