Husseiniyat al-Ghadeer, in the Norwegian city of Skien, hoisted the banner of mourning, marking the start of the season of grief over the martyrdom of Imam Hussein, his family and companions, peace be upon them.

The banner carried the phrase “O Moon of the Hashemites” to remember what happened to Imam Hussein and his brother al-Abbas, peace be upon them, in the painful event of Karbala.

 Various cities in the Islamic and non-Islamic world are witnessing mourning processions and ceremonies to revive the tragic martyrdom of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, which comes this year amid exceptional circumstances due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
