Grand Ayatollah Shirazi walks barefoot in mourning for Imam Hussain (peace be upon him)

The Ashura-Day annual walking ritual of his Eminence Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Sadeq Shirazi was held in the holy city of Qom this morning, Friday the 28th of July, which marked the Day of Ashura according to Iran’s calendar.

This ceremony is held every year in the morning of Ashura, in which Grand Ayatollah Shirazi attends with bare feet and without a cloak, as a sign of mourning.

Dozens of scholarly and cultural figures as well as Hosseini mourners participated in this ceremony along with his Holiness and expressed their condolences to Imam Mahdi, may Allah hasten in his deliverance.
